In the vineyard…

• 🍇 2026: an exceptionally very early

The first pruning of the white vines took place on 18 August, followed by the reds, which were harvested on 20 August and finished on 26 August.

• Grapes were often very small: the drought and intense heat severely limited the growth of the berries (the main factor affecting yield).
• Very advanced ripeness: the cycle was accelerated by the heat.
• Significant water stress: some vines, particularly the young ones, suffered.
• Health status generally good

Following the heatwave in mid-August, some plots are reported to have lost 20 to 30 per cent of their harvest in just a few days.

The 2026 yield is expected to be very low, at less than 30 hl/ha. The ‘premiers crus’ appellations were particularly hard hit (e.g. Savigny-lès-Beaune at 12 hl/ha)
