In the vineyard…

February 2026 was cool to cold, with lots of cloudy and rainy spells, sometimes a little snow or sleet, and little sunshine.

After a period of dismantling (cutting away anything that is not useful), when all the wood has been pulled out and removed, it is time to go over everything again to clean the rods and hooks.

At the end of February, when the dry, sunny weather returns, the first signs of weeping can be seen (the first sign that the vines are waking up at the end of winter. This is when we say that the vines are weeping. The vineyard begins to draw water and send sap to the tips of the branches. This is the phenomenon of bud rehydration).

The vegetation also begins to awaken and the first almond blossoms appear.

The accumulated rainfall this month continues to prevent any work on the soil.
