In the vineyard…

In May, despite constant disbudding, growth was extremely rapid due to the weather conditions.

At the same time as this disbudding, the first pruning had to be carried out in all the vineyard plots.
The higher branches must be kept between the wires to protect them and prevent them from breaking off in the case of heavy rain or wind.

From the first week of May, the vineyard protection cycle begins.

During May, a preparation of Silica is spread, ideally used in the spring, when the plant is approaching the peak of its vigour. It regulates vegetative vigour, strengthens against disease and makes the plants firmer and more supple.

At the end of May, when the flaring is almost complete, all the vines are lifted and the transplants attached.

Around 20 May, the first flowers appeared… and they developed rapidly, appearing on almost all the vines by the end of the month.

In May, weather conditions were changeable, with fluctuating temperatures but fairly dry conditions, despite occasional thundery lows which locally produced very patchy rainfall. Wind is regularly present.
