October 2025 The 2025 vintage chronicle… from harvest to vinification
September was marked by generally clement and varied weather.
After a relatively sunny and stable start to the month, a short period of hot weather set in around mid-September, bringing a few warmer days, before a progressive cooling off at the end of the month.
Rainfall remained within seasonal norms.
However, some episodes were intense, with localised thunderstorms and significant rainfall in certain areas.
Typical autumn weather, a gradual transition between the mildness of summer and the first signs of autumn.
In the vineyard…
On 3 September, the last cuts of the secateurs mark the end of the harvest.
This year’s harvest is particularly encouraging: the grapes are beautiful and healthy, and sorting in the vineyard has been quick and easy.
The winemaking process begins.
Pumping over and slight punching down are carried out to promote gentle extraction.
The first devatting begins on 9 September.
The grapes are then pressed, revealing the first outlines of the 2025 vintage.
The barrels are carefully prepared (cleaned, steamed, washed, varnished) to receive the wine in optimal conditions.
In the cellar…
Barrelling begins on 17 September.
At the end of September, the 2025 vintage is now resting in the cellar. A long process of evolution begins, continuing over time until bottling.
Ageing can then begin and run its course.
