Pascal MUGNERET

Vosne Romanée 1er cru “les Suchots” 2010Tasting of 28 February 2018

Tasted around 21:30 in the mountains.

Initially not very open despite an opening of the bottle 3 hours earlier.

Nice touch of mouth but the wine is still shy (anti-mousots !!).

Sharpness but the complexity is ‘gagged’.

The finish is fresh and dynamic. Overall lack a little homogeneity.

Taste again the next day at noon (still in Racine), the wine explodes, more relaxed, ample, always energetic in final, Suchots as we know it in a beautiful vintage.

Conditions of the moment : Moon Ascending Descending / Root – Lunar Node

Vosne Romanée 1er cru “les Brûlées” 2009Tasting of 28 February 2018

Tasting around 22:00 in the mountains. Opening of the bottle 3 hours earlier.

Nice sweet mouth entry, without sweetness. The complexity is not crazy but the fruit notes are on freshness, no tertiary aroma.

Beautiful line no signs of over-maturity, the end of mouth presents a beautiful energy.

Probably the best 2009 of the domain, as the balance has been preserved on this vintage.

Taste again the next day noon, not a ride.

Conditions of the moment: Moon Ascending Descending / Root – Lunar Node

Vosne Romanée 1er Cru “Les Brûlées” 2007Tasting of 13 January 2018

Bottle open at 9am. Wine tasted at 13h

A lot of freshness, beautiful fruit, density for the vintage.

Not a crazy complexity but very pleasant, the final a little short at the beginning lengthens with time.

There was a lot of fun.

We recover the Brûlées character: a little austere, rigid young wine time reveals in her great generosity always takes a certain rigor.

Condition of the moment: Descending descending Moon / Leaf

Nuits Saint Georges 1er cru “Les Boudots” 2011Tasting of 5 January 2018

Bottle open at 19h. Wine tasted at 9 pm

Nose very slightly ‘over-ripe’ but the whole remains fresh for the vintage.

The palate is sweet, good density in the mouth.

It’s a nice wine. We have fun.

Condition of the moment: Descending descending moon / Fruit

Bourgogne Passetoutgrain 2014Tasting of 5 January 2018

Bottle open at 19h. Wine tasted at 21h.

Elegant, energetic Pinot seems to dominate gamay.

No hardiness.

The texture is very slightly granular but salivating.

Appetizing wine. Not found blind.

Condition of the moment: Descending descending moon / Fruit

Echezeaux Grand Cru 2010Tasting of 31 December 2017

Bottle open at 15h. Wine tasted at 22h.

Beautiful wine, relatively open, very young, energetic.

Compared that day with another Echezeaux of the same vintage of a confrere, the harmony is not completely there, the tonicity at the end of the mouth testifies to a certain ‘immaturity’ of the wine.

No urgency therefore to open these bottles.

Conditions of the moment: Rising Moons / Root

Echezeaux Grand Cru 2008Tasting of 31 December 2017

Bottle open at 15h. Wine tasted at 22h.

This wine is a beautiful wine of great freshness but the rendering can be different from one tasting to another one oscillates between the good and the very good.

This time the energy at the end of the mouth gives it a slight austerity.

You can bet that a few years of additional guard should bring about greater harmony.

Conditions of the moment: Rising Moons / Root

Chambolle Musigny 1er cru “Les Charmes” 2012Tasting of 28 December 2017

Bottle open at 10am. Wine tasted at 9 pm

Nice wine, no fatigue, freshness, fruit, energy but little expressive despite the opening beforehand.

In the spirit of 2012 now that is to say, to put aside for now.

2012 is the second year that biodynamic preparations were applied.

This change in culture mode may explain this form of introversion.

Condition of the moment: Rising rising moon / Fruit

Nuits Saint Georges 1er cru “Les Boudots” 2008Tasting of 15 December 2017

Bottle open at 13h. Wine tasted at 13h

Very beautiful texture, beautiful consistency.

Aromatic freshness, salivating, palatable.

Very beautiful general harmony.

For sure one of the most beautiful 2008 of the field.

Conditions of the moment: Descending descending moon / Flower

Vosne Romanée 1er cru “Les Brûlées” 2005Tasting of 4 March 2017

Bottle open at 7am; Without carafing. Wine tasting at 10:30 pm

Nose dense and fairly expressive where the complexity is masked, packed.

Mouth in the continuity of the nose: rich, dense, ample, very on the ripe fruit.

The end reveals a suspicion of evolution. The length is average.

The tannic texture emerges slightly in the mouth: tannin highlights Overall, no aggressiveness, very suave, no sweetness.

Wine (equivalent of one glass) finished the following day: small point of evolution compared to the previous day that fades on aeration.

Beautiful outfit.

Current condition: Ascending Moon / Root

Vosne Romanée – 2013Tasting of 4 March 2017

Bottle open at 7am; Without carafing. Wine drunk at 21:30 on a grilled meat.

Very open nose with notes of black fruits; Small vegetable tips due to the entire vintage (during vinification).

Sweet mouth in the perfect line of the nose. Beautiful density but no heaviness.

Very fresh and final with an average length but a nice complexity.

Wine that is serious without being austere and a side appetizing: we have fun.

Wine (equivalent of one glass) finished the following day at 13h. Virtually no change for this wine compared to the previous day.

Current condition: Ascending Moon / Root

Savigny Les Beaune 1er Cru “Les Gravains” 2006Tasting of 8 January 2017

Open at 6:00 am drunk at 3 pm.

Nose on notes tertiary sector at first but which made look younger after a small aeration in glass. A lot of delicacy.
The mouth is ‘younger’ than the nose, the red berry takes out again with some notes of money wood, tannins are flexible, it is very well-balanced, notes of spices stand out in final.
We are not disappointed. Wine to be drunk.

Condition of moment : root the Increasing Rising Moon

Nuits Saint Georges 1er Cru “Les Boudots” 1992Tasting of 8 January 2017

Open at 4:50 pm drunk at 5 pm. Wine in 11°C.

The Nose develops notes essentially of money wood, the dress is copper-colored.
The mouth is fresher, the wine is substantial, a certain complexity still lives in this wine. Finale is round but with the character.
It was our last bottle in this naming and this vintage year.
This wine is to be drunk, not to hesitate to open 4 hours before without carafage.
Condition of moment : fruit / root the Increasing Rising Moon.

Chambolle Musigny 1er Cru “les Charmes” 2007Tasting of 8 January 2017

Open at 6:00 am drunk at 4 pm.

1st round mouth, full, dense middle of mouth is lacking can be a little of complexity, still on a certain reserve. It is rather male Chambolle but ‘ very gentleman ‘.
Final of average length. Attractive 2007 which can still wait.
Conditions of moment : fruit / root the Increasing Rising Moon

Nuits St Georges 1er cru “Les Boudots” 2007Tasting of 11 November 2016

Rich, rich nose, on notes of evolution which contrast with the mouth fresher, less heavy.
However and doubtless bound in the day of tasting, it is lacking harmony but we indulge ourselves.

Tertiary notes confirmed in mouth.
Wine which tends rather to be consumed.
Conditions of moment : the downward, decreasing Moon, the root

Nuits St Georges 1er cru “Les Boudots” 2009Tasting of 19 April 2016

The first mouth is silky and full.
Rich wine, without heaviness and final with beautiful tension for a vintage wine(year) 2009
We can consume with no problem at all this wine but the pleasure will more be big if we put bottles on hold.

Conditions of moment: the downward, increasing Moon, the root

Hautes Côtes de Beaune 2013 – Demi-bouteille (37.5cl)Tasting of 16 April 2016

Pleasant surprise! Beautiful fruit, attractive neatness
Rather deep for one High Coast. Wine with the material.
Through this wine, we do not imagine ourselves that this plot of land is hailed in 80 %!!
It is possible to begin to drink this wine but it is necessary to think of opening and of preparing the wine.
Conditions of moment: the downward, increasing Moon, Fruit

Chambolle Musigny 1er cru “Les Charmes” 2011Tasting of 3 April 2016

Conditions of moment: the rising, decreasing Moon, Root

Nuits St Georges 1er cru “Les Boudots” 2008Tasting of 3 April 2016

Open wine 10 hours before tasting
A touch of mouth velvet with a lot of freshness.
Slightly introvert with weft tanique which, in the daytime there, enjoys more side at Nights St Georges than of highly-rated Vosne Romanée
Carefree this wine can be drunk but it is also completely possible to wait
Conditions of moment: the rising, decreasing Moon, Root

Conditions of moment: the rising, decreasing Moon, Root

Vosne Romanée 1er cru “Les Suchots” 2008Tasting of 24 March 2016

Outdoor consummate bottle and without anticipated opening Dress ruby slightly evolved.
At first, we notice a closed nose which lets glimpse an evolution of the wine.
After a few minutes of aeration we find more freshness, a ripe red berry.
The notes of fruits mix with some notes of undergrowth.
Highly-rated very sapid some wine. Very consensual highly-rated “Suchots” with a lot of precision.

Belle length, beautiful freshness

very beautiful date 2000

Conditions of the moment: full moon, Root

Bourgogne Passetoutgrain 2010Tasting of 27 February 2016

A point of austerity in the opening but the wine opens gradually.
Very attractive material for a Bourgogne Passetoutgrain. Of the freshness, the complexity.
Regoûté 2 days + late: a little less complex but no oxidation to be noted.
Not to hesitate to open in advance as a great wine and which can wait.
Conditions of the moment: The moon déscendante, Root, Peak

Vosne Romanée 1er cru “Les Suchots” 2005Tasting of 23 February 2016

Open bottle 2 am before being consumed.
Very velvet for 2005 but it is due to the country(soil).
Beautiful complexity, very beautiful freshness.
This wine is not an archétique in the vintage wine(year) 2005, it is massive, mysterious.
Conditions of moment: the downward, decreasing Moon, Fruit

Vosne Romanée 1er cru “Les Suchots” 1999Tasting of 16 February 2016

Echezeaux 1997Tasting of 16 February 2016

No vegetable touch like that can be sometimes felt on this wine.
This wine is destined to a bright future.

Conditions of moment: the Decreasing, downward Moon, Flower

Nuits Saint Georges Les Boudots 1996Tasting of 11 January 2016

Bottle opened and served (13°C/ 55.4°F)

Color lightly brick-red, hardly altered by age. The nose is patissier; fresh with notes of red berries, barely evolved. Similar freshness on the palate. A lot of sweetness. The finish is a little short, lacking a bit in complexity. Beautiful wine, full of pleasure.

Tasting conditions: Rising, waxing moon, Root day.

Bourgogne Passetoutgrain 2010Tasting of 11 January 2016

Bottle opened and served (13°C/ 55.4°F)

Youthful color. The nose is lightly reduced but opens after a few minutes to show youth and richness. Direct and precise the palate with spicy fruit notes. The finish is a bit short. A wine that will age well. One shouldn’t hesitate to serve at around 18°C (64.4°F) after opening it a few hours earlier.

Tasting conditions: Rising, waxing moon, Root day.

Chambolle Musigny les Charmes 1er Cru 2007Tasting of 9 January 2016

Bottle opened 6 hours before tasting (18°C/ 64.4°F)

Pretty, lightly faded red color. The nose is deep, with dark fruits and notes of undergrowth. Ample on the palate, round and delicate. The finish is a little short, lacking a bit in complexity.

Tasting conditions: Rising, waxing moon, Fruit day.

Vosne Romanée Les Suchots 1er Cru 2010Tasting of 31 December 2015

Bottle opened 10 hours before tasting.

Ruby color. From the moment the bottle was uncorked, the nose was open, complex, uninhibited. The first taste yields roundness and elegance; with complexity and also freshness. Aromatically, the wine speaks to us already, and yet the finish is a bit tight, and the grain of the tannins has a light roughness. For the moment, there’s a lack of smoothness.

Wine tasted again the next day, at approximately 1pm (about 20% of the bottle was left).

The nose is open, ample, without any trace of oxidation, all the generosity of Suchots is present. On the palate, the freshness is intact from the day before, with complexity, tension, and a finish that has improved in harmony, though is still lightly marked by the grain of tannin. This wine can without a doubt still be aged.

Tasting conditions: Descending, waxing moon, Root day, Lunar Node

Nuits Saint Georges Les Boudots 1er Cru 2010Tasting of 31 December 2015

Bottle opened and tasted straight from the cellar (14°C/ 57.2°F)

Dark, shining ruby color. Wine opened at the last minute, nose initially closed but it did not take long before the dense, complex aromas arrived.

The palate is opulent but the finish remains a bit closed and the tannins leave a bit of a mark.

Wine tasted again the next day around 1pm (about 20% of the bottle was left)

The wine has blossomed, not a trace of fatigue. Through this wine we sense all the potential of the very beautiful 2010 vintage.

Tasting conditions: Descending, waxing moon, Root day, Lunar Node.

Vosne Romanée Les Suchots 1er Cru 2011Tasting of 26 December 2015

Bottle opened 5 hours before tasting.

Pretty color, both dark and shining. Complex nose, with a light vegetal note. During the first few moments this vegetal note continues on the palate before softening and then disappearing with time. A lot of smoothness in this wine, though one senses a certain restraint. Opening the bottle earlier (10 to 12 hours before tasting) would have been ideal.

Tasting conditions: Descending, waxing moon, Flower day

Echezeaux 2007Tasting of 26 December 2015

Bottle opened 5 hours before tasting.

A warm vintage. Beautiful dark color. The nose is, rich with light reduction, slight animal notes. On the palate, full-bodied, supple, pretty length, a gamey note that dissipates with time. It increases in purity over the course of a few minutes. One must take the time to appreciate all the potential of this wine.

Tasting conditions: Descending, waxing moon, Flower day

Echezeaux 2009Tasting of 24 December 2015

Bottle opened 5 hours before tasting.

Beautiful, dark color. Powerful, rich, intoxicating nose. The palate is consistent with the nose. The wine is not necessarily very open. Power dominates, to the detriment of complexity, the tannins are silky. This wine, from a warm year, has a beautiful future ahead.

Tasting conditions: Rising, waxing moon, Root day
